Celebrities at Home: Meg Ryan

Celebrities are idols for people all around the world- the way they look, the way they do their dress-up, the jewelries they wear, their vacationing style, their fitness regimen, their skin care regimen- everything is followed by thousands of fans all around the world. Today I am going to share another thing that the fans love to follow (in fact, should follow) the celebrities for- interior decoration of home.

The home of Meg Ryan may initially be imagined as full of bright colors and perky patterns. But Ryan has a more serious side, which is evident the moment one steps into her Martha’s Vineyard home. The house is one of many she has lived in and furnished since early adulthood, as her acting career has taken her from place to place. “I feel like I’ve been renovating houses my whole life,” she says. “I’ve renovated apartments, lofts, a log cabin in Montana—just tons and tons of places. I’m constantly ripping pages out of magazines in search of inspiration. I’ve found ideas everywhere, from a friend’s kitchen to a hotel lobby.

Let’s take a look at the actress’s personal beach home- Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, which she decorated with Marsha Russell of Satinwood:

#1 Living Room

The sitting area in the great room features a custom-made light fixture from O’Lampia Studio, sofas upholstered in a Rogers & Goffigon linen, and an industrial metal console table from Intérieurs; the side table is vintage, and the cocktail table is by Christian Liaigre.

#2 Dining Room

The dining area’s pendant lights are by O’Lampia Studio, the armchairs are slip-covered in a Summer Hill fabric, and the metal sign is vintage.

The chairs are from Intérieurs, and the pendant light is from Historical Materialism.

#3 Entrance

In the main entry, the zinc-top table is from Sydelle & Jay Livingston.

#4 Kitchen

Pendant lights from Historical Materialism are installed above an oak table in the kitchen; the range is by Viking.

#5 Bedroom

In the master bedroom, the Marsha Russell–designed bed and trunk are by Herrick & White, the linens are vintage, and the sconce is by O’Lampia Studio.

A guest room features a bed by Pottery Barn and Roman shades of a Summer Hill linen.

#6 Bathroom

An antique earthenware tub from LooLoo Design in the master bath; the towel bars are by Rocky Mountain Hardware, and the mosaic floor is by Daltile.

The master bath’s vintage pendant lights hang above an antique soapstone basin from LooLoo Design; the counters are made of bluestone with painted-brick supports.
